Wedding Wednesday: Onomatopoeia Extravaganza

As always, in the interest of posting against the pedestrian, every day wedding vein, today I bring you hypothetical wedding idea brilliance... an onomatopoeia wedding!  (Onomatopoeia: a word that imitates or suggests the source of the sound that it describes.)  In this instance, I am thinking along the lines of comics in particular.

I have recently fell in love with the film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and am drawing inspiration from this film.  As usual, I am a very visual thinker, so most of my inspiration is drawn from the cinema!

Imagine a wedding for gamers or comic book aficionados, complete with signs used by the MOH and BM that read "I DO" in typical comic-book style.  Visualize bright colors, a backdrop that resembles the window format of a comic book.  Maybe that is the background in the photobooth, where guests can use whiteboard speech bubbles and thought clouds to jot down well-wishes.  Maybe you want to go all out and have a costumed spectacular?  I think that would be pretty darn rad!

If video games are more your thing, imagine the awesome ways that could be incorporated!  You could dance to music created with classic game tracks, like Tetris or Zelda.  Guests could receive little 1-Up favors, or these amazing game controller soaps!

Some fun links that fit in this idea:

*  A Zelda Wedding!!!

*  epic comic book wedding invitations!

*  a super cute 1950's Comic Book Wedding royalty free download image!

*  Adorable silver "Ka-Pow" necklace!

*  Awesome silver "Shazam!" cufflinks!

Has anyone been to a comic/gaming themed wedding or had one?  I think it's such a fun idea!

Insofar as our wedding is concerned, my brother's senior year awards ceremony at college (several states away) will be the day after our initial wedding date.  Since it's a 12 hour car drive for my brother and parents, we are back to figuring out a date.

Also, I have learned I am not a very enthusiastic wedding planner, and if not for this blog, I would probably never think about it at all!  Anyone have any advice on how to be really organized and proactive about wedding planning while still having fun?!?!

Happy Wednesday!
